Job hunting blues
It's been well over 2 months since i started looking for a job after my graduation in June. And believe me, it is so hard to find a decent job that pays well! I have been getting my ass through one interview after another but there is just too many competition out there now. After sending out tones and tones of resumes, i didn't get any replies. Then i got suspicious...did the mailman ate my resumes or something? So, i decided to spy on the mailman one day, just to make sure my letters got sent. I dropped off my resumes at the bright red letterbox one really hot sunny day and waited. Nope, no mailman in sight. Then, i tried a different approach. I sent a letter back to my own house address. I received it. Strange and odd. Then why didn't i get any calls from the potential employers? Either there is too many graduates like myself applying for jobs or i am one lousy graduate. Hm, after some waiting i did get only like 3 calls. So, after the tones of resumes, i only got 3 interviews lined up. And the outcome... employers now are so stingy! They are only willing to offer you RM1,500 (maximum) which they expect you to have your own car because you have to do lots of travelling. Man, imagine with RM1,500 a month you have to pay your car installment, pay house rent (for ppl living on their own), electricity, phone and water bills and also the most important thing, food! Plus they want you to work at long, irregular hours, even sometimes on weekends (yes, Sunday included) and travel around to get business and sales for their company! Haha... if anyone is lucky enough to get paid more than RM2,000 per month, do let me know so that i can apply too. Hehe =).
