Curly or Straight?

There has been a long debate going on for ages comparing girls with curly hair versus straight hair. Back in college, I used to ask guys what kind of girl do they prefer. Their description usually falls under 2 categories. 90 percent prefer straight hair and 10 percent curly hair.

90 percent fall under description A:

Girl: Hey, what kind of girl do you like?
Guy: Hm…No.1, she has to be attractive.
Girl: What kind of appearance appeal to you?
Guy: She has to be tall, fair skin, big eyes, small lips, slim figure, great boobs and oh ya, long and sleek straight hair definitely.
Girl: Siao ah, you looking for a girlfriend or a supermodel?
Guy: Girlfriend that looks like a supermodel.
Girl: Sigh…..

10 percent falls under description B:

Girl: Hey, what kind of girl do you like?
Guy: She has to be attractive, funny…etc.
Girl: What are the physical appearance that you find attractive?
Guy: She preferably should have fair skin, medium eyes, slim figure, great smile, and I lurve curly hair!
Girl: With 90 percent guys preferring straight hair, why do you find curly attractive?
Guy: Well, curly can look quite cute too. If 90 percent of girls out there are sporting sleek straight hair, the 10 percent with curly hair would be quite special too. At least, they dare to be different and not be like everyone else.
Girl: Hm…interesting theory.

So, I guess whether it is straight hair or curly hair, it all really depends on the personality of the girl. If the girl is confident enough about herself, she will be able to carry the ‘look’ , which ever she chooses. Just look at Mariah Carey who has in the past, effortlessly switch between curly to straight locks many times. A girl should be able to decide for herself if she wants her hair straight or curly, and not conforming to the ideals of 90 percent of the male population.

I have just re-bonded my hair straight. But in the past, I had also perm my hair curly. Just to change my style. So, being exposed as a Ms. Curly and Ms. Straight locks, I can give girls some advice if they are still contemplating whether to go curly or dead straight.

Curly Vs. Straight:
1)Both also requires you to sit in the chair for 5 hours straight till your back aches.
2)Curly hair only looks nice for the first 2 weeks after you curl it. After that, you really have to style it painstakingly every morning before you leave your house. If not, your hair will look extremely messy. You will also have to rub on the curl enhancer gel to each separate curl on your head to get the ‘look’ right which can take up plenty of your time.
3)If you expect to have runway model curls every morning, you obviously are dreaming. When I had my E.V.A. perm + dye that cost me RM600, I thought I would look like this:

1)But after that, I look like this.

Girls, to get model perfect curls, you actually have to ‘set’ the curls with a curling iron again. The perm won’t give you the same results. After I use the curling iron and after 1 hour of carefully curling my hair section by section, I finally look like this. But the results only last for half a day.

1)Curly hair will only look nice if you know how to maintain it well. With straight hair, you can’t go wrong. Your hair will look sleek, smooth, manageable and neat. Not to mention, ‘pantene ad perfect.’
2)If you are petite like me, curly hair will actually make you look shorter and face will look wider. If your hair is straight, it will make you look taller, slimmer and face more narrow.
3)Rebonding is cheaper than perm.

This is the pic of me after RM280 rebonding.
